Coaching Methodology

Progress you can understand.

Progress feedback means Sandy watches what is becoming reliable in live training, identifies the next useful problem, and gives students and families clear feedback along the way. Want to see what that feedback looks like? Preview the Progress Report Card.

One class can show where you are starting. Consistent training gives Sandy enough repeated situations to see what is changing and what needs a different challenge. That is why training is organized as a 12-week first term rather than a collection of unrelated drop-ins.

Why a training term instead of random drop-ins?

Skill studies generally use repeated practice over weeks, not isolated sessions. The 12-week track gives Sandy repeated opportunities to observe the same student across changing partners and problems. The 12-week term is an academy coaching structure, not a claim that research has established 12 weeks as the universally optimal BJJ dose.
