Why This Matters
CDC guidance says children and adolescents ages 6 to 17 should get 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily. CDC
CDC also recommends muscle-strengthening and bone-strengthening activity at least 3 days a week for ages 6 to 17. CDC
For local school-age families, this is one more structured movement option in a small rural PK to 12 district where NCES lists 333 students for 2024 to 2025, while CDC guidance recommends at least 60 minutes of daily activity for ages 6 to 17. NCES

What EBI-Style Overtime Means
Our event uses an EBI-style submission-only format: no points in regulation, then controlled overtime from defined finishing positions if needed.
Regulation is commonly described as 10 minutes, submission only, then overtime starting from back control or spiderweb with alternating attack and escape turns; if neither athlete gets a submission, escape time can decide the winner. FloGrappling
Many EBI-format events run a single overtime round in bracket matches and up to 3 overtime rounds in finals. Submission Challenge
