Avoid the Fight
Leave before a fight starts. Create space, move to a safe place, and find an adult.

Train with control
Youth students use the five safety rules away from class. Every student follows the partner-safety, respect, cleanliness, and health rules in our Tannersville studio serving Hunter, Windham, Haines Falls, and Catskills families.
Parents can also review the Core Culture Parent Guide for the family’s role in attendance, encouragement, independence, and difficult training days.
Youth students use these steps when someone threatens or attacks them. Leave when you can. Find a trusted adult.

If someone attacks you, cover your head and keep your balance. Move to safety and find an adult.
Use the control positions Sandy teaches. Tell your partner when you need less pressure or a pause.
Add pressure in small steps. Release the hold when your partner taps or says stop. Do not crank a joint or neck.
The inclusion statement explains the academy’s conduct, accommodation, and reporting standards.
