Double Leg (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu)

A double leg is a takedown where you attack both of your partner's legs to drive, turn, or lift them into a grounded position.

Beginner Translation

You connect to both legs so the other person has a harder time staying standing.

What It Does

The double leg teaches level changes, penetration steps, connection, and how to finish takedowns with posture instead of chaos.

Where You See It

You see double legs from standing exchanges, after hand fighting, and when the hips and legs become available.

Why It Matters

Beginners learn that a good double leg depends on angle, timing, head position, and balance, not just forward force.
